Guided visits to Abacus 2.0

Please choose the hours: Monday through Friday from 9:00 to 15:00hs.

Norms of access and security:

  • Applications should be sent at least one week ahead of the visit.
  • Groups containing schoolchildren must be accompanied by two adults who take responsibility for them.
  • The instructions of the personnel of the Center will be followed at all times.
  • Access to the facilities will not be allowed to those carrying any material considered dangerous by the personnel of the Center.

Temadag sætter supercomputere i fokus

Anledningen til temadagen er indvielsen af fase 2 af Abacus 2.0 på Syddansk Universitet. Med udvidelsen når den nationale supercomputer op på 584 regne-noder.

Temadagen er målrettet mod it-afdelingernes medarbejdere, supercomputer-tekniske systemadministratorer og infrastrukturmedarbejdere. Men forskere og andre interesserede er også velkomne til at høre og se, hvad supercomputing er.

Finalen i SDU Supercomputer Challenge 2015

Professor, centerleder af SDU eScience Centre og overdommer i konkurrencen, Claudio Pica, var meget stolt af alle de deltagere, der nåede til finalen i konkurrencen:

This wasn’t easy […] We wanted to set the bar very high and we succeeded – but what is even more pleasant to see is that you succeeded to come to the end […] In my eyes you are all winners […] I see that you put a lot of effort into this and for this reason we are very proud of you.

SDU Super Computer Challenge Final on April 1, 2016

The final of the SDU Supercomputer Challenge will be held April 1, 2016 from 12:00 to 15:30in U45 at SDU, Campus Odense.

On that day, participants in the competition, will present their projects to a panel of judges, namely: Lene Krøl Andersen (DeIC), Claudio Pica (SDU), Rolf Fagerberg (SDU), Jens Svalgaard Kohrt (SDU) and Marco Chiarandini (SDU).

Subsequently, we welcome all interested to come and witness the crowning of the three winners of the SDU Supercomputer Challenge. Each winning team will receive DKK 25.000 –and time to run on SDU’s supercomputer ABACUS 2.0.

Supercomputer Challenge workshop 2: January 5, 2016

The program:

9:00-9:30: Welcome and introduction to Supercomputer Abacus 2.0.

9:30-9:40: Prepare stand for presentation of problem solving.

10:00-11:00: Presentation of problem solving to the judges by groups 1-7. Groups 8-14 will get an introduction to the programming course and will visit Abacus.

11:00-12:00: Presentation of problem solving to the judges by groups 8-14. Groups 1-7 will get an introduction to the programming course and will visit Abacus.
